An Over sized Jenga game was created from the PHSS Community. Several people made different pieces. The game was then donated to the 32nd Annual Rotary Radio Auction.

Student Orientation Program

Island Health Employment Advisors, Michele van der Wielen, North Island, Troy Barnes, Central Island have posed for a quick picture before the student started their job shadowing day at Port Hardy Hospital.

Each of these students are placed with different hospital professionals at Port Hardy Hospital.

Danielle Wigard, Faith Castillo, Hailey Ranger and Kristen Clair received their official Island Health identification after all of their hard work.  These students have had hospital orientation that included confidentiality, appropriate conduct and safety protocols.  Each of them also successfully completed 8 hours of online Island Health Training in order to be considered for the Career Observation Program.  Students will have the opportunity to shadow 3 different hospital professionals each day for 4 hours.  This will be taking place October 4, 11, and 18th.

Grant Bay Multi-class Field Trip

A few of our classes got to go out and enjoy the sun at Grant Bay. The Woodwork 9/10 class worked on driftwood joinery making surf shacks. The PE class played beach soccer, volleyball or football. The science 10 looked at tide pools and forest ecology.
